Troubleshooting issues with your Advanced HDPVR

With any complex technology, there are times when you run into problems. We provide help for the most common problems that you may experience.

Screen is black: Instead of your TV image, you see a black screen. It continues when you change channels, but you do see the channel information from the Interactive On-Screen Guide.

Lost signal when changing channels: When changing channels, the lost satellite signal message appears for a few seconds before the new channel comes in.

Recording didn't work: You set a recording and your program doesn't record as planned.

Upcoming recordings don't appear in list: My programs don't appear to be in the upcoming recording list.

Missing PVR program: Something you've recorded is no longer on your PVR list.

Multiple Recordings: I want to record a single edition of a program each week, but it's recording dozens on many different channels.

Instant PPV: When the phone line is connected to the receiver, your home phone stops working.

When the phone line is connected to the receiver your home phone stops working.

This is caused by connecting the phone line to the ethernet connection on the back of the receiver, instead of the "TELCO" modem. Doing this will take your home phone "off hook", meaning no calls can be made or received while the phone cable is incorrectly connected to the ethernet jack.

To resolve the situation, simply move the phone cable from the ethernet connection to the "TELCO" jack, which is located closest to the power connection on the back of the receiver. If you've already activated for Instant Pay Per View, you'll have to perform a successful reportback by going to Options 4-3-3. Ensure no one is using the phone and select "START" to perform a reportback.
