Receiver Code Downloads

Our newest code download will update your Interactive Program Guide (IPG) with new information to reflect the change to Shaw Direct from our old Star Choice name. You'll see a new logo on the top of the page, but the IPG will retain all of its current features.

Move to 8PSK signal modulation

Phase Key Shifting or PSK is type of signal modulation. In plain terms, this is how Shaw Direct transfers the data from the satellites to the receiver in your home. We recently moved all of our HD channels to 8PSK for 505, 530, 319 and 209 receivers. Basically, this format organizes the information in a more effective way so more data can be transmitted. Think of it like repainting the lines on a highway to allow the same number of cars to travel down a narrower road. Currently, all standard channels use QPSK, which is also an effective and efficient format. Our move to this new technology now, allows us to be ready for future upgrades to our HD programming packages and options.
