Audio/Video cutting in and out on all or multiple receivers
Problem
While trying to watch television, the on-screen video and audio are cutting in and out on multiple receivers (or pixelating) in your home.
Possible Causes and Solutions
- Check outside to see if you are there are any obstructions to your Shaw Direct dish, extreme weather conditions or storm clouds. Sometimes extreme weather can temporarily cause intermittent signal. Please wait a few moments, your signal should return shortly. If your dish is covered in snow, gently removing some of the snow on the dish can quickly bring up your signal quality.
- Check to see if the problem is happening on any other channels. If the problem is isolated to only one channel (or similar channels such as both Showcase channels), there is likely an issue at the network. This can also occur when the primary uplink of a network is going through very extreme weather conditions. While these situations are very rare, the networks are very good at keeping any programming down-time at an absolute minimum. Please tune to an alternative channel while the network works to resolve the problem.
- Check to be sure that there are no loose connections at the satellite dish. If you have a splitter or line coupler connected to your satellite system, this can also cause intermittent signal lose. If you can't identify any problems with the line or connections, please give us a call at 1.888.554.7827 so that a skilled technical support agent can assist you in troubleshooting your problem.
- Your Shaw Direct dish will be able to receive its signal even when it's raining or lightly snowing. If you are getting intermittent signal consistently during bad weather, you may require a service call. Give us a call at 1.888.554.7827 and we'll make sure you dish is properly aligned.
