The entry-level Essential HD is our smallest receiver ever! With HDMI and basic audio/video and coaxial connections, it's perfect as a secondary receiver or to connect to standard definition TVs.

Multi-Receiver Warranty

Shaw Direct charges a Multi-Receiver Warranty for customers with two or more receivers.

You pay that if you have two to six receivers in your home.

However, if you subscribe to certain programming packages, we'll waive or reduce the Multi-Receiver Warranty. Often, this makes a program upgrade worth your while. More programming. No Multi-Receiver Warranty.

An added bonus

Customers with more than one receiver receive a bonus. We give you a free limited lifetime warranty on all series active receivers.

Shaw Direct offers a special program whereby customers may replace defective or damaged receivers that are no longer subject to the manufacturer's limited warranty for refurbished receivers at a purchase price of $199.99.

This limited lifetime warranty covers all parts and labour. If a receiver breaks under normal use, you pay only a small shipping and handling fee to have it replaced or repaired. Replacement receivers will be new or refurbished units of equal or greater value. The Multi-Receiver limited lifetime warranty unfortunately does not cover your remote control.

How good is this deal? Well, new receivers come with a one-year warranty. The Multi-Receiver Warranty gives you added peace of mind.

Customers who own no more than one receiver can purchase the Single-Receiver Warranty: Shaw Direct's optional, limited one-year warranty.
