Shaw Direct rate adjustment - December 1, 2017

Starting December 1, 2017, rates will be adjusted on select Shaw Direct channels and packages. Shaw Direct customers will receive advanced notification of the rate adjustment through their monthly online or paper invoice.

Why are my rates going up?

We adjust our rates so that we can continue to provide our customers with access to the quality products and services they value most while introducing new experiences and technology that will address their current and future viewing needs.

By how much are the rates increasing?

Customers can expect to see a rate adjustment affecting the base package and select add-ons. The exact amount will depend on your programming selections and will be reflected on your bill.

Is the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) involved in regulating Shaw service rates?

The CRTC is not involved in setting Shaw Direct rates. Shaw Direct is solely accountable for any and all changes made to our pricing.

How are you planning to enhance your products and services with these funds?

Along with investing in our network to ensure that our customers have access to the reliable programming infrastructure they expect, we continue to invest in exciting new technology to deliver more HD channels and content, including the launch of 32 HD channels in 2017.

For example, we have begun our Digital Network Upgrade process to upgrade all of our channels from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4, allowing us to provide all available English and French channels in HD to our customers by 2020.

We are aware of how the average Canadian family is affected by the current economic environment and are committed to offering affordable programming options.
