8XX receivers software update - Version 64.29

From June 6-7, 2018, we will be updating the software on all HDDSR 800 and HDPVR 830 receivers. This update will enhance your HD guide experience.

Features and bug fixes

Version 64.29 provides the following new features:

  • An option to browse through what is airing on other channels or in future times by pressing ENTER and using the ARROW keys.
  • An overlay that represents "live" time and how far into an airing it is. Plus, scroll backwards to past times until approximately 4am ET each day.
  • Automatic display of Stingray audio album art and next song information on Internet-connected units.
  • A play-next-recording prompt, if available in the PVR List, will appear for the HDPVR. (This can be adjusted in the Preferences menu.)
  • A function to find channels by name or label using the onscreen keyboard.
  • Alerts (including those for PPV purchases, dual recordings, and reminders) that appear overtop of full-screen menus.
  • A new section in the Messages menu bar for customer news (e.g., promotions, free previews, etc.).
  • The Search menu reorganized to prioritize the most commonly used screens and make room for the new Channel Search function.
  • A reminder prompt to connect to WiFi when the customer presses the GUIDE button.
  • A brief help message when pressing HELP.

And a variety of bug fixes, including:

  • Loss of audio when PVR playback ends (on certain audio systems).
  • Video is not always rescaled (shrunk) when PVR playback ends.
