Classic Channel Lineup versus Advanced Channel Lineup
Shaw Direct offers two different channel lineups. Your channel lineup determines which number you enter to access your channels, and how those channels are organized in your on-screen Guide.
What are the differences between the Classic and Advanced lineup? In the Classic channel lineup, channel numbers range from 001 into the 900s. All Shaw Direct customers who signed up prior to September 14, 2009 or after June 1, 2013 will see this channel lineup. HD channels can be found starting at channel 001. Standard definition (SD) channels are grouped with local channels in the 300s, sports in the 400s, specialty channels in the 500’s, movies in the 600s, French stations in the 700s, radio in the 800s, Stingray digital music in the 900s, and PPV starting at 950. The Advanced channel lineup starts at channel 002 and is arranged a little differently than the Classic lineup. Standard definition (SD) channels are grouped with local channels followed by sports, specialty, and movies stations through the 200s. French HD and premium HD sports packages can be found starting at 380. The HD lineup runs from 500 to the 650s. The rest of the lineup is the same as the Classic lineup – French stations in the 700s, radio and music in the 800s and 900s, and PPV starting at 950.
How do I know what channel lineup I have?Press GUIDE on your remote control, and enter channel 091. If it says this channel is “NAT HD” (National Geographic HD), you have the Classic lineup. If it says this channel is “PBSSPO” (PBS Spokane), you have the Advanced lineup.
The other lineup sounds great, how do I get it?If you’d prefer to switch to the other lineup, please contact our Customer Care team to switch lineups. Note that both lineups have access to all our channels, they just make them available on different numbers.
How can I tell if the channel number you’ve listed is for the Classic or Advanced lineup? We will continue to support both the Classic channel lineup and the Advanced channel lineup. Two different channel numbers will generally be referenced in our communications: the first is the Classic channel number and the second is the Advanced channel number. For example, National Geographic Channel HD would be listed as 091/591, where 091 is the Classic lineup number and 591 is the Advanced lineup number.
