Can the first and last name displayed Shaw ID be changed?
Both Primary and Secondary Shaw IDs will have access to manage various settings using My Shaw Direct.
- Go to my.shawdirect.ca/
- Within the My Profile section, locate Manage Your Shaw IDs
- Modify the name by clicking on Change name.
How can I reset or change their Shaw ID password?
You can reset or change your passwords using the following self-serve options:
- Reset Password
- Go to my.shawdirect.ca
- Click Forgot your Shaw ID or password?
- Enter in your Recovery email.
- Confirm, I am not a robot.
- Click Reset password.
- Check recovery email account for email instructions to reset password.
- Change Password
- Go to my.shawdirect.ca
- Within the My Profile section, locate Manage Your Shaw IDs.
- Click Change password.
What happens when I reach the maximum of five secondary Shaw IDs?
The Primary Shaw ID will see +Add Shaw ID button grayed out, and a text will show that 5/5 IDs have been added to the account.
If I have a Primary Shaw ID and I cancel my account, what happens?
When an account with Shaw ID is cancelled, you will no longer be able to access the digital products and services that the account was eligible for.
Can all linked accounts access the associated digital products and services at the same time?
No. Only the Primary Shaw ID associated with the default account will be able to sign in into eligible digital products and services. If the Primary Shaw ID holder needs to sign in into other services associated to the linked account, they will have to change the default account. You can do this by logging in to My Shaw Direct and accessing the Add Account option under My Profile section.
Can I still link accounts in My Shaw Direct?
Yes, the Primary Shaw ID on the account can link accounts using the following self-serve option.
- Go to www.shawdirect.ca/my-account
- Within the My Profile section, click Add Account
- Enter Account number and Postal code
- Click Verify account
The account where you are linking another one will by default become the Primary Shaw ID.
Do I still need to have the Username and Password to link accounts?
No. Going forward, when accounts are linked with My Shaw Direct by a Shaw ID user, only the account number and postal code are required. You can link any account that does not have a Primary Shaw ID already associated with it.
If there is an existing My Shaw Direct credentials on the account being linked, it will be retired and will no longer be able to log in into any of our online properties or apps. The Primary Shaw ID will need to send a Secondary Shaw ID invite to household members that require access to the account.
Is there a limit on how many accounts can be linked to one account?
One primary and up to 4 additional secondary account holders (5 in total).
