Learn how to navigate our plan builder and update your channels for your Shaw Direct programming plan so that you enjoy your favourite shows and programs.
Before you start
Consider these tips prior to updating your Shaw Direct channels:
- You can upgrade your plan online using the Plan Builder (see next section).
- To remove channels or switch to a smaller plan, please contact us.
- You must have a channel for at least 30 days before you can change or remove it.
How to use the Plan Builder
Learn how to use the plan builder to update and customize your Shaw Direct TV package and programming.
- TV Plan
- Choose your current plan or upgrade to a new one.
- Customize
- Pick your own channels or let us choose for you.
- Note: this will not show up if you chose Total TV.
- Pick your own channels or let us choose for you.
- Select Equipment
- Rent a new receiver if needed.
- Note: Only 6 active receivers are allowed per account
- If you just want to upgrade/change your channels, click "I already have Shaw Direct equipment".
- Rent a new receiver if needed.
- Select Premium Channels
- Medium TV and Total TV include premium channels for free.
- For all other plans, you can still add premium channels, but extra charges apply.
- Quick checkout button
- Happy with your choices? Click the Quick checkout button to continue.
- Add more channels (optional)
- Add theme packs, sports, movies or custom 10-packs.
- Add more equipment (optional)
- Buy extras like remotes, satellite finders or tripods.
How to update channels in your plan
Please note that this step is for updating or changing complementary channels in the following programming packages only:

- Go to https://www.shawdirect.ca/english/cart/#/builder/buildYourPlan .
- Under the TV plan, select the same package you already have.
- Toggle between Choose my own or Choose for me.
- Choose for me: we pick channels for you. Don’t use this if you want to swap channels.
- Choose my own: pick your own channels.
- Click Add on all the channels that you wish to have.
- Once you are done, click Finalize selections.
- Choose for me: we pick channels for you. Don’t use this if you want to swap channels.
- If you chose Medium or Total TV as a plan, click Select premium channels, otherwise, proceed to step 7.
- Choose a premium channel and click Add.
- If you are satisfied with your selection:
- Click Quick checkout and fill in your contact information.
- If you want to add more channels:
- Click Add theme packs and individual channels(optional).
- Find your favourite channel and click Add.
- Otherwise, proceed to step 9.
- If you want to purchase an extra receiver or accessories (remote, install kit, etc.) with your order:
- Click Add more equipment.
- Find the receiver or accessory and click Add.
- Otherwise, proceed to checkout.
- Click Proceed to Checkout. You should be in the Contact Information tab.
- Fill out the form with your details.
- Once you are done, click Proceed to Checkout again.
- Review your order and contact information.
- Click Submit Order. Your order will be processed in 24-48 hours.
Additional information
- We will send you a confirmation email, including a reference number.
- Once we have processed your order, we will send you another email.
