Learn more about how to navigate our plan builder and update your channels in your Shaw Direct programming package so that you enjoy your favourite shows and programs.




    Before you get started

    Consider these tips prior to updating your Shaw Direct channels:

    • Do not complete an online order if you wish to downgrade your package, please contact us instead.
    • Before submitting your request, please check that you had that channel for at least 30 days.
    • If you have had this channel for less than 30 days, we advise you to request the change after 30 days or your request will be declined.

    How to Navigate the plan builder

    Learn how to use the plan builder to update and customize your Shaw Direct TV package and programming.

    • TV Plan
      • Choose your plan! Use this section if you want to upgrade your current plan or change your complementary channels that comes with your plan.
    • Customize
      • Choose channels complementary with your plan. You can choose your own, or we can choose for you (unavailable with Total TV).
      • This will not show up if you chose Total TV.
    • Select equipment
      • Use this section if you want to purchase an extra receiver
      • Note: Only 6 active receivers are allowed per account
      • If you just want to upgrade/change your channels, click “I already have an equipment.
    • Select premium channel
      • Medium and Total TV come with premium channels for free
      • If you chose Small, Extra Small, or Limited TV plan, this section will not be available
        • Adding premium channels to these packages will incur extra costs.
    • Quick checkout button
      • If you are satisfied with your selection, click this button and you will be directed to checkout
    • Add theme packs and individual channels(optional)
      • Use this section if you want to add individual channels, theme packs, premium sports, movies and/or custom 10 packs.
    • Add more equipment(optional
      • Use this section if you want to purchase equipment or accessories like remote, satellite finder, tripod, etc.

    How to update channels in your TV package

    Please note that this step is for updating or changing complementary channels in the following programming packages only:

    • Total TV**
    • Medium TV
    • Small TV
    • Extra Small TV
    • Petite
    • Moyen
    • Grand
    • Limited TV

    **(Total TV subscribers can swap between World and Adventure and Hollywood Suites only, found under Select premium channel)

    1. Go to https://www.shawdirect.ca/english/cart/#/builder/buildYourPlan .
    2. Under the TV plan, select the same package you already have.
    3. Toggle between Choose my own or Choose for me.
      • Choose for me: Channels will auto complete for you.
        • Do not use Choose for me if you are swapping channel(s).
      • Choose my own: Select your own channels.
        • Click Add on all the channels that you wish to have.
        • Once you are done, click Finalize selections.
    4. If you chose Medium or Total TV as a plan, click section 4: Select premium channel, otherwise, proceed to step 7.
    5. Choose a premium channel and click Add.
    6. If you are satisfied with your selection:
      • Click Quick checkout and fill in your contact information.
    7. If you want to add more channels:
      • Click Add theme packs and individual channels(optional).
      • Find your favourite channel and click Add.
      • Otherwise, proceed to step 9.
    8. If you want to purchase an extra receiver or accessories (remote, install kit, etc.) with your order:
      • Click Add more equipment.
      • Find the receiver or accessory and click Add.
      • Otherwise, proceed to checkout.
    9. Click Proceed to Checkout. You should be in the Contact Information tab.
      • Fill out the form with your details.
      • Once you are done, click Proceed to Checkout again.
      • Review your order and contact information.
    10. Click Submit Order. Your order will be processed in 24-48 hours.

    Additional information

    • We will send you a confirmation email, including a reference number.
    • Once we have processed your order, we will send you another email.
